I will need a lock of hair, preferably tail hair, approximately two pencil widths thick for most single bracelets or for orders with 1-2 keychains and a lock of hair approximately three pencil widths thick for two bracelets in an order or 3-4 keychains per order. For bulk orders (more than 3 bracelets or more than 5 keychains) please contact me prior to cutting/sending horsehair to ensure the correct minimum amount of horsehair is being mailed.
If you do not already have a lock of hair, it is best to take a section in the center of the tail directly below the tail bone. If taken from there the hair is the most consistent length possible and I can use 3/4 of a pencil width less than the stated amounts above. I can always use more hair and most times less, but any unused horsehair will be returned with the finished items. I will take care of all washing and prep work required. Please make sure that the lock of hair is completely dry before sending so it doesn't mildew/mold during transit.
Please make sure that the name and return address on the envelope matches the information used when placing your order or include a note with your information inside the package so I can verify it is your horse's hair upon arrival.
